Who we are
Clay Consulting is a UK-based service that helps therapists build and maintain their private practice websites. Our website is clayconsulting.co.uk. If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, you can contact us at hello@clayconsulting.co.uk.
What information we collect and why
We collect information in two ways:
Information you give us directly: When you fill in our onboarding form or contact form, you may provide your name, email address, phone number, professional qualifications, location, and a profile photograph. We use this information solely to build and manage your website and to communicate with you about the project. We do not use it for any other purpose, and we do not sell it to anyone.
Information collected automatically: When you visit clayconsulting.co.uk, data is collected automatically about how you use the site. This includes your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on the site. This data is collected via Squarespace (our website platform) and Google Analytics. We use it to understand how our site is being used and to improve it.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies — small files stored on your device. These include:
Essential cookies that make the site work (set by Squarespace)
Analytics cookies that help us understand visitor behaviour (set by Google Analytics)
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the site.
How long we keep your data
Contact and onboarding form submissions are retained for as long as we have an active relationship with you, and for up to two years afterwards in case of any queries. You can ask us to delete your data at any time — see below.
Who we share your data with
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate our business:
Squarespace — our website platform, which processes form submissions and hosts the site. Squarespace is GDPR-compliant. You can read their privacy policy at squarespace.com/privacy.
Google Analytics — used to analyse website traffic. Google may transfer data outside the UK. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
We do not share your personal data with any other third parties.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Ask us to correct inaccurate data
Ask us to delete your data
Object to how we're using your data
Withdraw consent at any time (where we've relied on consent to process your data)
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@clayconsulting.co.uk. We'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
The legal basis for processing your data
We process your personal data on the following grounds:
Contract — processing your onboarding information is necessary to deliver the service you've asked for
Legitimate interests — using analytics to understand and improve our website
Consent — where you've agreed to our use of cookies
